Companion Rescue Skills (CRS) is a one-day intermediate-advanced course on using transceivers, probes, and shovels. It can be taken to raise your CRS to a higher level and/or can be used as a refresher. It will also teach you how to respond as a leader in avalanche search and rescue situations. Prerequisite is either AST1 or AST2 or equivalent training (check with the instructor). Your course starts at 8:00 a.m. at Seven Summits Centre for Learning, 2110 1st Avenue, Rossland. Price of $150 includes 1 full day of instruction. We review skills in the classroom before heading out to spend the rest of the day in the snow. You need winter boots and clothes, a lunch, and your pack with beacon/shovel/probe. Contact Keith to schedule a date. Minimum: 5 students. Maximum: 8 students.

Managing Avalanche Terrain (MAT) is a one-day refresher on decision-making in avalanche terrain. It will refresh the skills you learned on your AST1 or AST2 course.
